Thaddeus Conlisk joined MCIP in 2009 as an associate and assists the practice in obtaining and protecting intellectual property rights for clients, including assisting in the preparation and filing of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark applications. Mr. Conlisk also assists in the practice of various other intellectual property disciplines including novelty searches, trademark searches and intellectual property law research.
Mr. Conlisk brings considerable experience to MCIP with over 10 years of engineering experience in the automotive industry. Mr. Conlisk began working for Johnson Controls, Inc. in the early 1990s as a student and elevated to Project Engineer where he was responsible for the design of various automotive seating systems. In 1997, Mr. Conlisk took a position with Mercedes-Benz U.S.I., Inc., where he worked as a Development Engineer for vehicle seat systems as well as various interior trim components. In 2000, Mr. Conlisk moved back to Michigan to work for Nissan as a Senior Project engineer. In particular, Mr. Conlisk managed various aspects of engineering projects and eventually moved to the product validation, where he acted as engineering’s liaison to Nissan’s legal department for product liability matters. Mr. Conlisk then took a position with Bush, Seyferth & Paige PLLC, as an associate, and continued to work in product liability.
Mr. Conlisk is originally from Michigan and obtained his various degrees from Michigan Universities. In particular, Mr. Conlisk graduated from GMI Engineering & Management Institute, now Kettering University, in 1994 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Conlisk also attended Wayne State University Law School where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2006.
Mr. Conlisk is a member in various legal groups and associations. In particular, Mr. Conlisk is a member of the Michigan Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. Mr. Conlisk is also registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office as a registered Patent Attorney since 2003.
